Indoor Air Quality Tip: Dealing with Airborne Pollutants

Indoor_Air_Quality_Filters_Duct_Cleaning_iStock_000015986521_Large_800x533Now that we’re moving into the latter half of March, many homeowners throughout the area are already starting to think about getting the best performances possible from their air conditioning systems. We will have some helpful tips to help you do so coming in near-future posts. For now, though, we want to remind homeowners of how important it is to also maintain great indoor air quality in Madera, CA.

As we move into the spring season and temperatures begin to rise, so too are allergen counts such as tree, grass, and ragweed pollen. By the time spring is in full bloom, your allergy and/or asthma symptoms may be as well. The good news is that we offer the indoor air quality systems and services that you need to resolve any such problems in your home.

Airborne Pollutants

Airborne pollutants like dust, pet dander, and allergens from vegetation are among the most common problems that drag down indoor air quality in homes throughout our areas. When the weather is nice and you are going in and out of your home more and more, you are likely to bring more pollutants into your home. So too are your pets, which are walking pollutant factories themselves, though admittedly beloved ones!

We have a lot of solutions to help you deal with these types of pollutants in your home. Quality air filtration systems, for instance, are among the most basic and most effective methods by which to remove pollutants. You cannot count on the standard air filter in your HVAC system to improve air quality throughout your house, but you also don’t want to purchase an efficient air filter from the hardware store that will impeded the operation of your system. Instead, let us install a great air filtration system for you, such as high-efficiency Lennox filter kit.

Electronic Air Cleaners

Sometimes, air filtration systems are not the ideal solution to air quality problems in one’s home. Electronic air cleaners operate in a more active manner than air filtration systems do, and may be better suited to your home or HVAC system. We can install a great electronic air cleaner for you.

Rather than filtering pollutants out of the air as the air passes through a filtering media, an electronic air cleaner will use an ionization process in order to give the pollutants passing through the chamber an electrical charge. Then, oppositely charged collector plates will attract the pollutants to them, and those plates can be easily removed by the homeowners in order to clean them up.

As you can see, achieving and maintaining great indoor air quality really is not a cut and dry situation. There are a lot of considerations to be made, and certain problems — such as dealing with biological pollutants — are going to require different solutions than basic airborne pollutants do. Working with trained, experienced professionals is the best way to ensure that you are able to enjoy air of a high quality in your home.
