Okay, the time has come. Your long-term air conditioner is well past its 15-year peak and it is no longer able to keep your home cool anymore. You need an AC replacement in Fresno, and we can get that job taken care of for you.
Step one of getting your replacement is acknowledging that you need a replacement in the first place. If you are reading this blog, that step is probably taken care of. Step two is going to be figuring out what air conditioning system you need. To do that, you need to know what questions to ask so you can select the system that works best for you–and yes there is more than one option!
4 Questions You Want to Ask When Selecting Your Next AC Unit
Selecting a new air conditioner is no small task. That system is going to make or break your home comfort this summer! Here is what you need to consider when you are making the decision:
1. Do you want even temperatures throughout the home?
Central air conditioners are ideal for providing even temperatures throughout the entirety of your house. If you want to make sure that your home is kept at a regulated temperature this summer, you may want to select a central AC system. If you are interested in opting for more customized comfort, such as cooling just one room at a time to save on energy, a heat pump may be a better fit.
2. Are you in the market for a new heating and cooling system too?
We know you aren’t thinking about heating up your home right now but what if one system could replace both your old AC for comfort now and replace your faulty heater too? If you know that your heater is on its last leg too, you might want to look into a heat pump so you can guarantee you enjoy both cooling this summer and heating come winter. If your heater is still in prime condition though, you can still select a central AC system if it suits you better.
3. Would you like to ditch your ductwork?
Maybe you have ductwork in your home and you are okay with keeping it in use–you can do that with a central AC or a ducted heat pump. If you are ready to ditch your ductwork because it has become too costly and too much of a hassle, then you might want to look into a ductless AC system.
4. Are you looking to get more space in your home?
Let’s say you have plenty of space in your home and outside your home as well. That’s great! A central air conditioner or a heat pump are both great options. If you are looking to snag a bit more space in your home though, a heat pump or ductless heat pump might be a better fit as they take up a lot less room than a central system does.
